FWP Commission To Meet January 12 In Helena

Montana's Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Jan. 12 at FWP headquarters in Helena.

At the meeting, the commission will take final action on several items, including an oil-and gas-rights acquisition at Makoshika State Park, Lake Helena commercial fishing regulations, a right-of-way grant to the Montana Department of Transportation at the Roundhorn Wildlife Management Area near Thompson Falls; and an amendment to the Beaverhead/Big Hole rivers recreational use rule. In addition, the commission will discuss FWP's budget and several lands-related matters, including the Pennington Bridge lease on the Big Hole River, the Poindexter Slough exchange, and an easement grant at the Big Horn Fishing Access Site.

At an informational work session following its official meeting, the commission will discuss a water-leasing report and the Flathead Lake Management Plan.

The meeting will begin at 8 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12 at FWP headquarters in Helena at 1420 East Sixth Ave.
