FWP Commission To Meet In Helena

The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Friday, Nov. 12, at FWP headquarters in Helena.

At the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., the Commission will, among other matters, adopt final 2000-2001 fishing regulations; adopt the nonresident combination license annual rule; take final action on a proposed "no wake" rule on Swan Lake; discuss a draft policy for resolving recreational conflicts on Montana rivers; hear status reports on FWP's conservation easement holdings, wildlife management in the Elkhorn Mountains, and from the Archery Working Group.

The Commission also will be asked to take action on several lands-related matters, including a land exchange at Ulm Pishkun State Park south of Great Falls, the Haffey bighorn sheep acquisition near Anaconda, and the Black Diamond Beaverlodge land exchange near Bridger. The meeting is open to the public.
