HeadlinesFor the second consecutive year, the Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission has eliminated hunting for either-sex mule deer during the archery-only season in many hunting districts throughout the state. In other words, antlerless mule deer cannot be taken legally by bowhunters in many hunting districts.
Regulations for bowhunters during the special early season for most districts now state, "Antlered buck, either species" or "Antlered buck mule deer, either sex whitetail," as legal game during the archery-only season.
Bowhunters are urged to read 1999 regulations carefully to ensure the game pursued and the manner in which it is pursued are legal in the districts they are hunting.
