Environmental Assessment for the Desert Mountain Elk Game Farm Available

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) Region One has written an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Desert Mountain Elk Ranch Game Farm owned by Steve Kvapil & Barbara Wuertz, PO Box 7483, Kalispell, MT 59901, Flathead Co., T31N, R19W, Sec. 28 SW SW & Sec. 29 SE SE, south of Coram.

Applicants' proposed action will be in 2 phases: #1 consists of placing up to 15 elk on approx. 18 ac., #2 consists of adding up to 45 additional elk after enlarging game farm by 15.5 ac. Entire game farm would consist of up to 60 elk & 33.5 ac.

Copies of this EA are available for your review at Fish, Wildlife & Parks, 490 N. Meridian Rd., Kalispell; Flathead Co. Library, 247 First Avenue E., Kalispell and 130 Sixth St. W., Columbia Falls; and the Montana State Library, 1515 East Sixth Avenue, Helena.
