The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet in Helena on Friday, May 8.

At the meeting, which will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Colonial Park Best Western Inn, the Commission will set tentative rules for selecting an organization to auction Montana's 1999 bighorn sheep and moose auction licenses. The Commission also will adopt tentative moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat quotas and tentative mountain lion quotas and regulations for the 1998 hunting seasons.

Among other business, Commissioners will take action on a couple of rule changes related to boat use at the Thompson Chain-of-Lakes and at Bigfork Bay on Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana, and hear an appeal from representatives of the group who had hoped to conduct a walleye fishing derby at Canyon Ferry Reservoir near Helena this summer, but whose application was denied by FWP.

The public is welcome to attend. The FWP Commission makes every effort to ensure that its meetings are held at facilities that are fully accessible to persons with mobility disabilities. If you plan to attend this meeting and will need other special facilities or accommodations relating to a disability, please contact Patty Dumas at 444-7826.
