The Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission is now seeking public comment on a draft policy regarding hunting in state parks.
The policy has been drafted by FWP to provide consistency among park sites and inform the public of the types of hunting permitted and the times hunting is allowed. Hunting has long been permitted in a number of state parks. The new policy will not change hunting in parks where hunting historically has been permitted.
Copies of the draft policy are available from the Parks Division, FWP, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701. Comments on the draft policy should be sent to the same address by April 15. The FWP Commission is scheduled to act on the policy at its May meeting.
