Alan Charles of Miles City has been hired as the new landowner-sportsman relations coordinator by Fish, Wildlife & Parks. He replaces Michael Korn, who was appointed manager of FWP operations in the Helena area.
Charles, who has been employed by the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station since 1989, has been extensively involved in landowner-sportsman issues in eastern Montana for several years. He recently served as chairman of that subcommittee of the Governor's Private Land/Public Wildlife Advisory Council that provided the overall council with guidance in establishing landowner incentives for implementing FWP's expanded Block Management (hunting access) Program.
In his new position, Charles will be responsible for overall administration of the Block Management Program as well as other FWP programs through which the state wildlife agency works directly with the owners of private lands in Montana.
Charles will assume his new duties in Helena on January 20.
