Interns Sought By Fish, Wildlife & Parks

Fri Jan 03 00:00:00 MST 1997

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is once again offering Montana college students an opportunity to gain practical experience in their field of study by serving as interns in several of Montana's State Parks and regional offices.

According to Debbie Cheek, statewide internship coordinator for FWP in Helena, by using state parks and regional offices as classrooms for acquiring new skills and knowledge, the students are able to complete practicum requirements by working in positions that relate to their career interests. "This intern program benefits both the student and the divisions they are serving during the summer months," she said.

College students in any of Montana's state colleges, private colleges, community colleges, Vo-Tech and Native American colleges are urged to contact their career placement office to apply before application deadlines in February and March of 1997.

For more information, contact the intern director at any of Montana's colleges, or Cheek at (406)444-4701.
