FWP Seeks Comment on Proposed Improvements to Kohrs Bend Access Site

Fishing - Region 2

Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is seeking public review and comment on its proposal to improve Kohrs Bend Fishing Access Site (FAS) and the adjacent riverbank on the Clark Fork River, just north of Deer Lodge.

The proposal calls for building a new gravel boat ramp, expanding the parking area and improving gravel roads, adding a security gate and fencing, and installing a latrine. The improvements would provide better boat access, address the demand for vehicle and trailer parking and enhance stream bank stability.

A draft environmental assessment has been prepared for this proposal.  Find the document online at fwp.mt.gov under “News.” And then “Recent Public Notices.” Or, request it by mail from Region 2 FWP, 3201 Spurgin Rd., Missoula 59804; phone 406-542-5500; email shrose@mt.gov.

Comments can be submitted online at fwp.mt.gov, or should be directed to Sharon Rose by mail to the address above or email to shrose@mt.gov. Comments must be received no later than 5 p.m. on April 6, 2017.
