BILLINGS — Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has restricted motor vehicle traffic at the Buffalo Mirage fishing access site to stem abuse on the Yellowstone River banks and surrounding land.

New signs were posted this week at the site, four miles southeast of Park City, after damage by vehicles was documented on both private and public land along the Yellowstone River corridor.

The signs ban all motor vehicle traffic, including motorcycles and ATVs, below the high-water mark, except to launch or retrieve boats from the Yellowstone River. River users still may access public land on foot via the river banks.
