CRANE, Mont.--Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (MFWP) proposes to renew an agricultural (crop / hay) lease on 323 acres on Seven Sisters Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The proposed leases will be for a 3-year period (April 1, 2014 – March 31, 2017). The purpose of the proposed lease is to provide cover and forage for wildlife, especially white-tailed deer and pheasants.
Seven Sisters WMA is located near the town of Crane along the Yellowstone River in Richland County. Seven Sisters WMA comprises 1,541 acres; however this proposal is relevant only to approximately 323 acres.
The proposed project is not expected to have significant impacts on the physical or human environment. Identified impacts are expected to be minor and of short duration. Interested parties may find more information at http://fwp.mt.gov, the Recent Public Notices.
