Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are looking for tips on a deer poaching case that took place northwest of Hamilton in the neighborhood of Westhills Way (off Blodgett Camp Road) on Wednesday, August 6.

Game Warden Justin Singleterry responded to a call from an area resident that heard shooting and watched a white-tailed doe fall to the ground and then, appearing injured, get up and run away.

When the Singleterry arrived he found blood from the deer at the scene, and witnesses say the deer was accompanied by two fawns. The shots were heard at 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 for providing information that leads to a conviction.
