State wildlife officials are seeking details about two deer that were illegally killed south of Chinook last week.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Warden Andy Fuerst of Havre said a white-tailed doe and a mule deer buck were shot from the Clear Creek Road on the night of Nov. 1. Both deer were left to rot at the site, which is located about 32 miles south of Chinook.

Anyone with information about the case can contact Fuerst directly at 406-262-2407 or via email at afuerst@mt.gov. Members of the public can also call FWP’s Turn In Poachers-Montana hotline at 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be offered a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
