GLENDIVE, Mont.-- Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials are seeking information from the public about a mule deer buck that was recently shot and abandoned on Dawson County Road 238, also locally known as the Pleasant View Road.
FWP Warden Steve Marx described the deer as a mature buck that was just starting to grow a new set of antlers. The deer was shot out of season, left to waste, and had been shot off the roadway. All are violations of Montana law.
“Sadly, poaching of this type is becoming more frequent in eastern Montana,” stated Marx.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Marx directly at 406-853-7500 or the Turn In Poachers-Montana hotline at 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be offered a cash reward up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest.
