Spring Hunter Education Classes have been scheduled for Kalispell, Somers, and Plains. All hunter education classes are free of charge. By state law, anyone born after January 1, 1985, must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. A student must be at least 10 years old to take the course.
All students must register online at the FWP website: fwp.mt.gov; click education, then click hunter education.
Kalispell Schedule: All students must attend a mandatory orientation on Friday, April 8 from 4-8 p.m. at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks at 490 North Meridian Road in Kalispell. Students will need to stop in for the brief orientation any time during that period. At that time, students will pick up their manuals and receive course instructions.
Classes will be held at the Flathead High School from 6-9 p.m. on April 18, 19, 20, and 21. The field course is held on Saturday, April 23.
Test night is back at the high school on Monday, April 25, from 6-8 p.m. Call FWP (752-5501) or Mike Corkish, lead instructor, 212-8122.
Somers Schedule: All students must attend an orientation on April 7 at Somers Middle School from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Students must attend the entire session. Classes then continue on April 18, 19, 20, and 21 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Field day is scheduled for Saturday, April 23. Contact West Plummer at: 250-3437.
Plains Schedule: All students must attend the orientation on March 7, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Plains High School. Classes continue on March 21, 22, 23, and 24 from 6-8:30 p.m. Field course date will be announced. Contact: Wayne Crismore, 826-5139.
