A free program on how to prepare wild game for the taxidermist is set Aug. 30 at Montana Wild, 2668 Broadwater Ave., next to Spring Meadow Lake State Park off Highway 12 West.
The "Wild Thursday" program, sponsored by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and Trails West Taxidermy, will demonstrate the proper steps hunters should take after harvesting a once in a life time trophy deer, elk, or pronghorn. The class will cover how to cape, transport, and store a trophy animal to ensure that it's ready for the taxidermist.
The one-hour class will begin at 7 p.m. Space is limited and will fill up quickly. Register by calling Montana Wild at 444-9944.
