Plan to visit Big Pine Fishing Access Site (FAS) near Alberton this Saturday, July 28 for a children’s wildlife safari. The free program begins at 10:30a.m. and is best geared for those ages five to nine.
This special program features arts and crafts and an opportunity to learn more about Montana’s wildlife through hands-on discoveries. An adult must accompany all program participants.
To reach Big Pine FAS, take I90 Exit 66 and then head south to Fish Creek Road. Follow the signs to Big Pine, approximately 4.5 miles from the exit. Visitors should park in the lot to the left when entering the campground. Big Pine FAS offers day use access and overnight camping spots.
Volunteer coordinator for these special programs, Valerie Bayer, says that Big Pine will also host an evening campfire program for all audiences on Saturday, Aug. 18. For more information on Big Pine FAS events, contact Bayer at 406-722-1533 or FWP at 406-542-5500.
