Becoming An Outdoors Woman In Plains

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program is sponsoring a one-day workshop in Plains, at the Sanders County Fairgrounds, July 21, that will introduce participants to a variety of outdoor skills.

Half-day sessions include handgun basics and woodworking. Other class choices are archery, archeology of Sanders County, Dutch oven cooking, fly fishing, horseback riding, map and compass, ATV basics, Montana native plants, photography, trap shooting, and wilderness first aid.

Participants must be 18 years of age or more. Registration is $30, and scholarships are available based on need. The workshop fee includes instruction, equipment and materials, a continental breakfast, light lunch, and late afternoon snack.
