Leave the kids at home, mom, and go to a camp designed just for you. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is sponsoring a “Becoming an Outdoors-Woman” (BOW) workshop this summer. The workshop will run from August 9 through 11.

These popular workshops provide women an opportunity to learn outdoor skills such as fishing, fly-tying, shotgun and rifle shooting, canoeing, map and compass reading, dutch oven cooking, backpacking and more.

The workshop, which is geared toward beginners and stress hands-on learning experiences, will be held at the Lubrecht Forest camp east of Missoula. The fee is approximately $190, including class instruction, meals and lodging.

Partial scholarships are available. Teachers who attend the workshop can receive OPI continuing education credit. The workshop is designed for women but is open to anyone 18 years of age and over with a desire to learn new skills.

To receive more information, provide your name and mailing address to the BOW Coordinator at FWP-BOW, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620 (406-444-2615); or e-mail Liz Lodman at llodman@state.mt.us
