Montana Hunter and Bowhunter Education Instructors Needed in Region 7


Volunteer instructors are being sought for the Hunter and Bowhunter Education programs in Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 7, which includes the counties of Garfield, Rosebud, Treasure, Prairie, Dawson, Richland, Wibaux, Fallon, Custer, Carter, and Powder River Counties.

FWP At Work - Warden Work - March 26


Take a peek into the daily life of one of Helena’s FWP wardens, Justin Hawkaluk. Through images and video, Justin will provide a glimpse into the duties and activities Montana Game Wardens. The audience will be surprised to learn all that is entailed in being a warden and the efforts that are made to ensure public safety and to protect and educate about Montana's natural resources.

FWP At Work - Wildlife Forensics - March 19


Come and take a walk with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Criminal Investigator, Brian Sommers, as we explore Wildlife Forensics. The program will focus on the wildlife forensics involved in a wildlife attack on humans. It will explore what is an attack, the scientific investigation after an attack and the conclusions drawn from the investigation.

A number of bowhunter education classes have been scheduled for northwest Montana. All students must register online for the following courses. When registering, students will note specific information and guidelines for the course included in the online posting. All first-time bowhunters regardless of age must complete the Bowhunter Education Course to purchase an archery stamp in Montana. The course is free of charge.

Polson, Ronan, Pablo Hunter Education Class Announced


Class for the Polson, Ronan, Pablo Spring Hunter Education course will start Monday, March 2nd in the Beaverhead Math & Science building on the Salish Kootenai College campus in Pablo. All classes will begin at 7:00pm and end at 9:00pm. Interested students are required to register online now at A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to the first class.

Trapper Education Class Set for Feb. 21 in Missoula


A trapper education class is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks office in Missoula (3201 Spurgin Road). The class is free and students do not need to pre-register.
