Online registration is open for a compressed August hunter education course in Billings. The class runs Aug. 7-9 at Billings Rod and Gun Club.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will hold its fall Butte hunter education class beginning August 12 at Highlands College (formerly Montana College of Technology – 25 Basin Creek Road). Online registration is required, and students under 18 years of age must have the consent of a parent or guardian.

The 2014 fall Dillon Area Hunter Education course will be held at the Dillon Middle School on August 18, 19, 20 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and August 21 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The field day will be held on Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Dillon Rifle and Pistol Club Range. Online registration is required.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will hold a Wolf Trapping Certification class at its regional headquarters in Bozeman on Saturday, August 16 from 8 a.m. to noon. Certification is required for all would-be wolf trappers in the state of Montana. Individuals that have been certified in years past do not need to take the class again.

Over the past month, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has solicited for volunteer applicants to fill four slots on the Region One Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC is in its 19th year and was established to provide input and guidance to FWP from the public. This is a general advisory committee that works with FWP on all issues and programs. The Committee is advisory in nature and does not have decision-making responsibilities.
