Thank a Hunter or Bowhunter Education Instructor


This fall, like every autumn, thousands of first time hunters will safely hit the Montana landscape, all because someone volunteered the time to teach them properly.

Even in FWP Region 6, Please be Bear Aware


Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the Bureau of Land Management would like outdoor enthusiasts to be “Bear Aware,” even in Region 6. Although bear encounters are rare in most of Region 6, there are currently some bears present in the Little Rockies and the Bears Paw Mountains. In addition, bears are occasionally found wandering far from their traditional areas, and preventative measures should always be taken to prevent wildlife encounters.

Wolf Biology and Management Talk Scheduled for November 5 at FVCC


Long-time wolf biologist Kent Laudon will present, “Comparisons between Northern Rockies Wolf Recovery and Mexican Wolf Recovery” on Thursday evening, October 22 at Flathead Valley Community College beginning at 7 p.m. The talk promises to be an informative and entertaining look at contemporary wolf research and management. Laudon has worked with wolves for 20 years and is well known for his expertise and insight on these carnivores.
