Copper King Fire Forces Closure of Most of Hunting District 122 in the Thompson River Area


The U.S. Forest Service and four other agencies have issued an access closure area for the Thompson River Drainage and all tributary drainages south of the Historic Bend Ranger Station. The closure forced by the Copper King Fire in the Thompson River encompasses about 80% of HD 122. The closure is in place to protect the public from potential harm from wildfires and firefighting operations associated with the fire. The closure prohibits the public from going into or being upon the area.

Helena to Host "Plan to Hunt" Adult Education Series


Helena will host a Plan to Hunt workshop series from August through December for adults that are new to hunting or just want to expand their skills and understanding in order to hunt more confidently in Montana. The first workshop is Aug. 25, 6pm, at Montana WILD (2688 Broadwater Ave).

Last Hunter Education Classes Offered in Glasgow, for Youth and Adults


Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Hunter Education course dates have been set for the last hunter education courses in the Glasgow area for this year. There will be an adult online “field day” course on August 23, and a regular youth classroom course August 25-27.
