FWP sites in Dawson County entering Stage 1 fire restrictions

Effective Wednesday, July 19th at 12:01 a.m., Dawson County will enter Stage 1 fire restrictions. Fish, Wildlife & Parks follows the county’s lead in placing fire restrictions on its properties within that county, so campfire and smoking restrictions also will be in place at Black Bridge Fishing Access Site (FAS), Intake Dam FAS, Johnson Reservoir FAS, Stipek FAS, Three Mile Wildlife Management Area (WMA), War Dance Island WMA and Makoshika State Park.

Fallon County entering Stage 1 fire restrictions

Effective July 18th at 12:01 a.m., Fallon County entered Stage 1 fire restrictions. Fish, Wildlife & Parks follows the county’s lead in placing fire restrictions on its properties within that county, so campfire and smoking restrictions also will be in place at South Sandstone Fishing Access Site.

Several SW Montana Rivers To See Restrictions Wednesday

(BOZEMAN, Mont.)—High water temperatures and low stream flows have prompted Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to implement “hoot owl” restrictions on several rivers in Southwest Montana starting Wednesday.

FWP restricts campfires at Wheatland County properties

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will ban campfires and restrict smoking and other activities at its fishing access sites and wildlife management area in Wheatland County starting immediately because of wildfire danger.

Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Take Effect on FWP Properties in Phillips and Hill Counties, Remain in Other Counties

In response to dry, warm weather that could increase the danger of human-caused wildfires, under the recommendations of county officials, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks fishing access sites (FASs) and wildlife management areas (WMAs) are now under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions in Phillips and Hill counties. Phillips county entered Stage 1 Fire Restrictions as of 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 11. Hill county will go into Stage 1 beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 14. In addition, in the Region 6 area, Blaine, Garfield, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan and Valley counties remain in Stage 1 restrictions.
