Applicants Sought For Region 6 Citizens Advisory Council

Councils & Committees - Region 6

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking applicants to fill four volunteer positions on the Region 6 Citizens Advisory Council.

The advisory council meets three times a year at the Fort Peck Hatchery and provides input and guidance to FWP on a diverse array of issues -- from wildlife and fisheries management to access, outdoor recreation and law enforcement. Members can serve for up to two consecutive, three-year terms, and meals and travel expenses are provided.

Applicants are now being sought to fill four vacancies created by members completing first or final terms.  Candidates from across Region 6 -- including the Scobey and Plentywood area -- are encouraged to apply.

Applicants will be asked to provide an overview of their interests and involvement in natural resource issues and to write a few sentences on why they are interested in serving on the committee.

To obtain an application, call FWP at (406) 228-3700, email Ron Selden at rselden@mt.gov, or stop by the Region 6 office at 54078 U.S. Highway 2 West in Glasgow. Completed applications must be received by Aug. 9. Successful applicants should be prepared to attend their first meeting on Sept 10.
