Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Region 6 Citizens Advisory Council will meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 8 at the Fort Peck Fish Hatchery.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will feature induction of new member Mark Azure of Harlem, who serves as director of the Fort Belknap Tribal Fish & Wildlife Department; an update on the statewide fisheries management plan; reviews of the 2012 hunting seasons and pending legislative bills; an update on Region 6 lands projects; a presentation on predicted 2013 water levels and their potential impact on Fort Peck Reservoir fisheries; and a member roundtable discussion. Time for public comment is reserved at the beginning of the meeting.
Each of FWP’s seven administrative regions has a volunteer CAC to help guide policies and programs. The Region 6 group, which has 13 members, meets three times a year.
