Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Oct. 8 at the FWP Helena Headquarters, 1420 East 6th Ave, beginning at 8 a.m.
Final decisions will be made on the 2010 fishing regulation changes; Future Fisheries project funding; administrative rules for emergency closures; projects to receive non-game tax check-off funds, and the acquisition of property near the Beckman WMA.
The FWP Commission will tentatively decide on plans to extend and expand a closure on bull trout fishing in FWP Region 1 near Kalispell and on annul rules for the 2010 nonresident combination license.
Informational items will include a summary of public comments made during the recent 2010-2011 initial season setting comment process and an update on the bighorn sheep conservation strategy.
The FWP Commission will also decide on endorsements for the agency's bighorn sheep and mountain goat transplant plan, a proposed conservation easement in the Big Hole Valley, and a land acquisition on Five Mile Creek near Billings.
A work session, where no formal public actions is taken, is set for Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. also at the FWP Helena headquarters building. The FWP Commission and representatives from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will discuss wildlife depredation.
