Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials will close Placid Lake State Park to the public beginning Sept. 5, 2006 for site improvement projects. The park, located three miles off Hwy. 83 south of Seeley Lake, will remain closed until October 27, 2006.
Improvements scheduled for the site include paving the internal park roads and parking areas and installing a second campground host camp pad with underground utilities.
These development projects will help to improve public safety, cut down on drainage and dust issues within the park and provide a space for additional volunteer staff to reside while providing visitor services at the park.
Contact Park Manager Chris Lorentz at (406) 677-6804 or the Missoula FWP office at (406) 542-5500 for additional information on the closure.
