Several Mountain Lion Hunting Districts Close In Regions 2, 4 & 5

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region's 2 and 5 will close at one-half hour after sunset on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014:

Close to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • HD's 283 & 285 – which include portions of Missoula and Powell counties,
  • HD 580 – which includes portions of Meagher, Park, Sweet Grass and Wheatland counties,

Closed to hunting of male mountain lions on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014:

  • HD's 410, 417, 419 & 426 – which includes portions of Fergus, Petroleum and Judith Basin counties

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the district(s) had been met.
