Mountain Lion Hunting To Close Hunting Districts In Regions 2 & 3

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region's 2 and 3 will close at one-half hour after sunset on Friday, February 15, 2013:

Close to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD 240 – which includes portions of Missoula and Ravalli counties.

Close to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • HD 390 & 391 – which includes portions of Broadwater, Gallatin, and Meagher counties.

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the district(s) has been met.
