Mountain Lion Hunting To Close In HD's In Regions 3, 4 & 5

Hunting District Restrictions, Closures & Reopenings

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region's 3, 4 and 5 will close at one-half hour after sunset on Monday, January 14, 2013:

Close to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD 560 – which includes portions of Park and Sweet Grass counties.

Close to hunting of male mountain lions:

  • HD's 410, 417, 419 & 426 – which includes portions of Fergus, Petroleum and Judith Basic counties.

Closed to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • HD 314 – which includes portions of Gallatin and Park counties.

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the district(s) had been met.
