Hunting District Restrictions, Closures & Reopenings
This news release was archived on Thursday, December 22, 2005

Hunting for antlerless elk with a general elk license closed Sunday, Nov. 20 in hunting district 270 located south of Hamilton and east of highway 93 because the quota was met.  A total of about 250 cow elk had been checked through the Darby check station shortly after hunting with a general license for antlerless elk began Saturday Nov. 19.

This closure only affects hunters using their general elk license to harvest an antlerless elk in HD 270.  The district remains open to antlerless elk hunting for those holding an A7 antlerless elk license for HD 270 and to young hunters ages 12-14.  Hunting for brow-tined bulls also remains open with the general license.
