Ronan Fall Hunter Education Class Announced

Class for the Ronan Fall Hunter Education course will start Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30 pm, at the Ronan Assembly of God Church. Interested students are required to register online now at fwp.mt.gov. A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to the first class. Pickup manuals with instructions at Ronan Sports and Western or Westland Seed Starting on Wednesday the 10th through the 13th.

Wardens Investigate Elk Poaching Near Canyon Creek

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks wardens are investigating the recent poaching of a bull elk near Canyon Creek northwest of Helena. The animal was discovered about a quarter of a mile off Lincoln Road in an alfalfa field. Apparently, it had been shot and left to waste, with neither antlers nor meat salvaged.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on a draft environmental statement proposing the development of a new fishing access site on Prickly Pear Creek in the Helena Valley.

Pine Grove Pond Project Will Begin on September 2

FWP will begin a road and path project at Pine Grove Pond FAS on Tuesday September 2nd. The project will improve the access road as well as finish paving the foot path around the pond.

Online registration is now open for Hunter Education classes across northwest Montana. All registration for Hunter Education Classes in northwest Montana is through the FWP website online. Register online at fwp.mt.gov; click Hunter Ed Schedule and follow directions to register. See link: http://fwp.mt.gov/education/hunter/hunterEd.html . All class details will be found online.
