Docks at Smith Lake and Echo Lake Fishing Access Sites (FAS) are currently not functional due to age and damage, and they will be replaced by mid-summer. New docks are currently being built locally and will be completed and installed by the end of July. New docks at Smith and Echo will have enhanced access elements and user-friendly features.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will reopen the Yellowstone River in the Livingston area to all recreation on Saturday, June 29. A popular area for anglers, the closed stretch runs from Mayor’s Landing fishing access site to 1000 feet below a construction site at the Park Avenue Bridge.

A 3-year-old male grizzly bear was euthanized at the FWP state wildlife lab in Bozeman Tuesday. The bear was captured Monday morning on private land north of Red Lodge after two separate incidents of depredation occurring Thursday, June 20 and Saturday, June 22.
