Glendive Deer Management Archery Hunt

An archery only management season hunt has been enacted for the area in and adjacent to the town of Glendive, Montana. The City of Glendive has requested additional antlerless mule deer licenses be made available five per hunter and valid from the start of the archery season, September 3, 2011 until the end of the big game season, November 27, 2011in an effort to reduce the number of mule deer in and immediately adjacent to town.

Town of Colstrip Archery Deer Management Hunt 2011

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is offering a reward of as much as $1,000 for information leading to convictions in two deer-poaching cases in Billings.

EHD confirmed in white-tailed deer

Laboratory tests of white-tailed deer found dead along the Yellowstone River east of Billings have confirmed that the animals died of epizootic hemorrhagic disease, or EHD.

Tests completed on fish caught below oil spill

Laboratory analysis of fish collected in the Yellowstone River below the site of a July 1 oil spill show no detectible petroleum in consumable fillet tissues. Traces of petroleum hydrocarbons found in reproductive and digestive organs leave questions about the long-term health of the fish, however.
