Registration, Drawings Coming Up For Aluminum Plant Hunting Areas

Columbia Falls Aluminum Company (CFAC) has enrolled two areas of their land into the Block Management hunting program this year. Both areas are limited access only, and permission is given at the FWP Region One office in Kalispell. The South Half property is for youth ages 12-15 and hunters with a permit to hunt from the vehicle only. The North Half is walk-in only and is open to youth and hunters with disabilities only.

Registration Coming Up for Polson Hunter Education

Registration for the Polson Hunter Education course is scheduled for Tuesday, September 7 at 6:30 pm at the Polson Middle School Cafeteria. Classes run September 14 – 17 (Tues – Fri), 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The test is scheduled for the last hour at the September 17 class. The field course is scheduled for Saturday, September 18.

FWP Seeks Comment on West Yellowstone Shooting Range Grant

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on a proposal to grant $26, 325 in shooting range funds to the West Yellowstone Ski Education Foundation to make improvements to the existing biathlon range on the Rendezvous Trail System.

Pneumonia in Anaconda Bighorn Sheep may be Concentrated in Olson Gulch Area

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) continues to assess the status of pneumonia in the Lost Creek (Anaconda) bighorn sheep population in west central Montana, where the disease was first detected on Aug. 20. Biologists now believe that the disease may be concentrated in and around the Olson Gulch area west of Anaconda.

Meet Montana’s Turtles Sept. 10 At Spring Meadow Lake State Park
