Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), Region One, has completed an environmental assessment (EA) for a revised project proposal at West Shore State Park in Lake County for the purpose of installing 11 campsite electrical pedestals within campground Loop B. In addition, the proposed project would include electrical infrastructure improvements.

Kalispell, MT (September 30, 2009) - Today, The Conservation Fund and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) announced the protection of 244 acres along the main stem of the Flathead River, just north of Flathead Lake. Bonneville Power Administration provided funding for the transaction.

Reports from several southeastern Montana locations have confirmed that EHD has surfaced in the resident white-tailed deer populations. Reports from Glendive, Savage, Sidney, Circle, Brockway, Angela and Rock Springs suggest EHD has surfaced in the local white-tail populations.

Winter hours at Pictograph Cave State Park east of Billings will start Oct. 1. Through the foreseeable part of the season, the state park will open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The new visitor center will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the same days. The park will close Mondays and Tuesdays.
