Region 3 Citizens' Advisory Committee to Meet in Ennis on August 9


Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks’ Region 3 Citizens’ Advisory Committee will meet in Ennis on Wednesday, August 9. The meeting will be held at the El Western Motel conference facilities from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

High Water Temperatures Prompt Noon To Midnight Fishing Closures On Eight Rivers


Come Monday, anglers will be waking up earlier to fish on some waters in Montana. High water temperatures prompted Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials to close fishing from noon to midnight on eight main-stem rivers beginning Monday, July 31 until Sept. 15 or when conditions improve significantly.

Soft-shelled Turtle Research


Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologists are trapping soft-shelled turtles in the Yellowstone and Missouri River drainages. The soft-shell turtle population appears healthy and biologists from several agencies are gathering data over a 5-year period to determine the relative abundance of the population. FWP is spearheading this effort using funding from the State Wildlife Grants program that is administered by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Ribbon Cutting for Bundy Bridge FAS July 21


The media and the public are invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly established Bundy Bridge Fishing Access Site on Friday, July 21, at 9:00 a.m. The fishing access site is located on the Yellowstone River approximately one mile west of Pompey’s Pillar National Monument on Bundy Bridge Road.
