Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet December 5


The Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission will meet Dec. 5 at FWP Headquarters in Helena. The meeting will be streamed live via video to all FWP regional offices. The meeting will also be audio streamed online at The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.

All mountain lion hunting to close in HD's 405, 447 and 471


The hunting of all mountain lions in northcentral Montana hunting districts 405, 447 and 471, which includes portions of Cascade, Chouteau, Judith Basin, and Fergus counties, shall close at one-half hour after sunset on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019.

Mule Deer Buck Shot, Wasted Near Bynum


Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking information on a mule deer buck that was shot and left along Highway 89 about five miles north of Bynum in Teton county.

Wind, mud challenge weekend hunters in south central Montana


Mild temperatures, but high winds in south central Montana, marked the fourth weekend of the state’s general big-game hunting season. Hunters in all corners of the region reported seeing evidence that the deer rut is in full swing. As a result, hunters were out in fair numbers and the deer harvest was solid.
