The second meeting of the 2008 Elk Archery Committee, a group formed to recommend regulations in 23 hunting districts outside of the Missouri River Breaks, will meet in Bozeman Tuesday, July 8 at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' Region 3 office.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will host three public hearings in July to gather comment on a rule proposal that would allow state wildlife officials to designate the   gray wolf as a species in need of management. The need for new rules follows the official removal of the northern Rocky Mountain gray wolf in March from the federal list of threatened and endangered species.
