Fish, Wildlife and Parks has scheduled four public meetings to discuss the recent acquisition of property on the Marias River. Last fall, FWP bought approximately 7,540 acres on the Marias west of Interstate 15 that will become a new wildlife management area and state park Now, FWP wants to hear from area residents ideas and interests for management of the property. All the meetings are at 7 p.m. and are set for: · Feb. 2 at Marias River Electric, Shelby, · Feb. 3 at Glacier Electric, Cut Bank, · Feb. 4 at the Civic Center, Valier, · Feb. 5 at the Pondera County courtroom (courthouse), Conrad. The introductory meetings will give FWP a chance to help refine management actions for 2009 given the constraints of topography, access and seasonal opportunities.
