Shooting Range Enhancement Grants Awarded

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks recently awarded $105,000 in grants to enhance shooting-range facilities in several communities.

Shooting-range grants were awarded to:

  • The Missoula Trap and Skeet   Club—$23,160 to help construct a security fence.
  • Whittecar Rifle and Pistol Club near Hamilton—$34,660 to help improve a parking area, construct a new classroom, meeting room and shooting bay.
  • Judith Basin Archery Range in Stanford— $17,045 to help align facilities with Americans with Disabilities Act standards improved insulation and upgrade heating system, and improved indoor and outdoor archery facilities.
  • Dillon Rifle and Pistol Club—$30,207 to help align facilities with ADA standards, construct and improve shooting facilities, provide a vault toilet and a new parking area.
The Shooting Range Development Grant program uses funds generated from the sale of Montana hunting licenses. For information visit FWP’s website at fwp.mt.gov.
