Fall hunting officially gets underway Friday, August 15th with the opening of archery antelope season in many Montana hunting districts.

Sportsmen are reminded that to hunt antelope with a bow and arrow in a special August archery season, they need to have drawn a special 900-series tag and bought a bow-and-arrow license. Archery licenses are available at all license dealers and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks offices. To purchase an archery license, hunters must show that they either have held a bow and arrow license in the past or passed a bowhunter education class before Aug. 1.

People caught hunting without the proper licenses and tags may be cited into court, where they could be fined or jailed and lose their hunting privileges.

Antelope archery season for people without 900-series tags, as well as those hunting for deer and elk with a bow and arrow, opens Sept. 6.

All hunting regulations and lists of season opening and closing dates are available at license dealers and FWP offices and online at <http://fwp.mt.gov> .
