Visit Beavertail Hill State Park Friday, July 18 to get a glimpse into life on the Lewis & Clark journey through an in-character performance of one of the expedition’s members. The program starts at 8 p.m. at Beavertail Hill State Park, 26 miles southeast of Missoula just off Interstate 90. Missoula educator Tom Lukomski will portray Private Joseph Whitehouse, a member of the expedition, recounting his experiences with the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery. Lukomski will detail the trials and labors of the expedition and what was important to the enlisted men, as recorded in Whitehouse’s journal. The program is free. Admission to state parks is free for Montana residents, however park fees apply to non-residents. Beavertail Hill State Park offers evening programs every Friday at 8 p.m. through Aug. 22.
