FROMBERG — Vandals have shot several deer and left them to die along the Bluewater Creek Road and in other areas near Fromberg in recent weeks. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest or other resolution of the crimes. FWP wardens said it appears that the deer were shot with a small-caliber gun from nearby rural roads during the past three weeks. They were not killed immediately, but left to die later. Shooting wildlife out of season, shooting from a road and leaving dead wildlife to spoil are irresponsible, wasteful, unsafe, damaging to Montana’s natural resources and illegal. Wardens asked anyone with information about the crimes to call 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668) to report what they know and qualify for a reward. 1-800-TIP-MONT is a toll-free number where people can report violations of fish, wildlife or park regulations. Callers may remain anonymous. It is similar to the well-known Crimestoppers program and offers rewards for information resulting in apprehension of persons who abuse Montana’s natural, historic or cultural resources.
