Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is pleased to announce, after four years in the making, the Cinnabar Tract land acquisition along the Yellowstone River south of Livingston is complete.

Anglers and other recreationists now have an additional 3.38 acres of public land to use and enjoy along the Yellowstone at the north or downstream end of the Grey Owl fishing access site near Emigrant.

“This is good riverfront property and will make a great addition to the Grey Owl site,” said Bruce Rich, Regional Fisheries Manager. “We appreciate this generous donation from the Cinnabar Foundation and the benefits it brings to the public for access to the Yellowstone.”

The Cinnabar addition is walk-in or boat-in only and can be accessed on foot through the Grey Owl site.

The Cinnabar Foundation is a charitable natural resources conservation organization based in Helena.

In addition to the Cinnabar acquisition, FWP has 320 other sites across the state where anglers and others can enjoy good access to blue ribbon streams, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.
