Applicants for Montana Fish,Wildlife & Parks’ Recreational Trails and Off-Highway Vehicle Program grants may attend a two-hour training session at no charge to assist them in the application process. The grant application deadline for the next funding cycle is July 1. The Recreational Trails Program administered by FWP has $1.1 million in grant funds for development, rehabilitation and maintenance of trails in cities, rural areas and backcountry and for non-motorized and motorized trails. The maximum grant available is $35,000. The Off-Highway Vehicle Program has $160,000 in grant funds for trail rehabilitation and maintenance of trails open to off-highway vehicles and for OHV safety and ethics education and information. Most grants in this program range from $10,000 - $25,000.
