The deadline for the local State-Fish Art competition has been extended. Entries are now due at the Fish, Wildlife and Parks headquarters in Kalispell by 5 P.M. on Wednesday, March 26. "The original deadline was March 19 which fell within Spring Break for many area schools. Since many of our entries come from Hooked On Fishing school groups, that put those classes in a bind and would have cut participation" said regional fisheries manager Jim Vashro. Entries will be judged by local artists, awarded ribbons and prizes and displayed at Snappy Sport Senter over the weekend. All entries will then be mailed to the national State-Fish Art contest. Students can also enter the national contest directly by March 31. Contest details are available from FWP or the website http://www.statefishart.com.
