Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks reminds commercial users that a 2008 permit is required on FWP managed sites.

The FWP Commission rules require permits for commercial activities on FWP-managed lands, including angling and whitewater rafting, guided walks and tours, guided trail rides and commercial filming.

Water-based outfitting and guiding at most FWP Fishing Access Sites require a $100 annual permit, available online beginning Feb. 19 at fwp.mt.gov under Online Applications, or from most FWP offices and license providers. Applicants must provide an FWP automated licensing number and an outfitter or guide license number, if certified by the Montana Board of Outfitters.

A special restricted-use permit is required for commercial use on the Beaverhead, Big Hole, Blackfoot, Madison and Smith rivers, the Alberton Gorge of the Clark Fork River, and at Montana State Parks and Wildlife Management Areas. Contact the nearest FWP office for details on special restricted-use permits.
