Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Feb. 20 in Helena at the Colonial Red Lion, 2301 Colonial Drive, at 8:30 a.m. The FWP Commission will make final decisions on the: · 2008-2009 hunting season dates · 2008-2009 biennial quotas for deer, elk, antelope, moose, sheep, goat, and black bear · 2008-2009 wolf seasons and boundaries · 2008-2009 game damage permit authorizations · 2008-2009 upland game bird and turkey seasons and quotas · 2008-2009 black bear seasons and HD boundaries · 2008-2009 moose, sheep and goat seasons and HD boundaries · 2008-2009 deer, elk and antelope seasons and HD boundaries · 2008/2009 lion seasons and HD boundaries. Officials also noted that a Montana wolf season is contingent upon a federal decision to delist wolves in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and parts of Utah, Washington, and Oregon. Based on public comment, FWP may recommend modifications to some tentative hunting regulations. If those modifications are significant, public comment will be taken during the commission meeting. Also at the Feb. 20 meeting, the Commission will also decide on whether to proceed with a conservation easement on the North Shore of the Missouri River in Great Falls, and reconfirm the members of the Glendive Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Paddlefish Roe Committee.
