Meetings Set in Southwest Montana to Discuss 2008 Big Game Season Proposals

Tentative proposals for the 2008 big game hunting seasons, approved by the Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission on Dec. 20, will be the subject of ten public meetings across southwest Montana beginning on January 2, 2008.

 

Region 3 meetings will be held in Whitehall, Butte, Bozeman, West Yellowstone, Ennis, Dillon, Big Sky, Helena, Livingston, and Gardiner. Public comments collected at these meetings and submitted by mail or email will be weighed as the FWP Commission finalizes Montana’s 2008 hunting regulations in February.

 

All of the Region 3 meetings will begin at 7 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

Whitehall:                         Jan. 2                     Middle School Community Room Butte:                         Jan. 3                     War Bonnet Hotel Bozeman:                           Jan. 7                     Holiday Inn West Yellowstone:               Jan. 8                     Holiday Inn Sun Spree Ennis:                           Jan. 9                     Sportsman’s Lodge Dillon:                           Jan. 10                   Search and Rescue Building Big Sky:                           Jan. 10                   Buck’s T-4 Helena:                           Jan. 15                   Red Lion Colonial Hotel Livingston:                      Jan. 16                   Best Western Yellowstone Motor Inn Gardiner:                         Jan. 17                   Best Western (Highway 89)  

Meetings will also be held statewide during the month of January. A complete meeting schedule and more information on the hunting season and regulation proposals will be available on the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov beginning in January or by calling the FWP regional office in Bozeman at 406-994-4042.
