Fish, Wildlife and Parks is looking for information in the Dec. 3 killing of two bull elk on the Judith River Wildlife Management Area.

Someone shot two six-point bull elk about daylight on the main road through the WMA, says Bob Hammer, FWP game warden in Stanford.

“These were big bulls,” Hammer says.

Using the Boone and Crockett Club big-game trophy scoring system, Hammer estimates one bull at 370 points, the other at 280 points.

“There was no attempt to retrieve these bulls,” Hammer says. “They were just shot and left.”

Anyone with information on this incident should call 1-800-TIPMONT (847-6668) or Hammer at (406) 566-2939. All information is strictly confidential and may result in a reward up to $1,000.
