The grizzly bear that mauled a bird hunter near the town of Dupuyer along the Rocky Mountain Front was captured and relocated last week, state wildlife officials announced.

Brian Grand from Stevensville was bird hunting with three companions when he apparently surprised the bear in the brushy creek bottom.

Grand received puncture wounds and cuts on his arm, legs and head. He also underwent surgery to repair a broken arm.Grand was taken to Benefis hospital in Great Falls. He has since been released.
